Whenever there’s a high amount of stress and people are thrown together away from home, there’s a tendency for a lot of fooling around. In politics, it’s called “campaign sex.” Try it sometime.
In TV news, well, that’s another story. In the film “Live from Baghdad,” Michael Keaton’s character explains what happens when a lot of men and a few women are located half a world away. He called it “DSB season,” in reference to the painful ordeal of “deadly sperm backup.” If you are one of those women, though, you have the pick of the litter.
So it seems with CBS’ Lara Logan, the network’s foreign correspondent in Baghdad. According to the stories coming out about the former swimsuit model, she was involved with U.S. embassy employee Joe Burkett and CNN reporter Michael Ware at the same time.
Naturally, the two gamecocks faced off one night, brawling “over her honor.” This is interesting because, naturally, one of the guys is married. Burkett’s wife says that Logan seduced him, but a friend of the TV reporter says not so much, and that Burkett and his wife had been on the road to getting a divorce before the affair.
Blame goes all around here, unless you’re Wonkette’s Sara K. Smith, who makes the important point that, “In conclusion, there is nothing more awesome than war correspondents constantly sexing each other and having fistfights, because that is what Hemingway wanted for America.”
