Sen. Bryant’s post just a sample of hatred for Obama

It may seem odd (OK, maybe not), but Sen. Kevin Bryant’s picture of the Obama-Osama T-shirt showed us just one of many attacks on the Democratic presidential candidate that are out of line. It’s hard to know what’s in the head of some on the fringes of American politics, but spreading outright lies about someone and saying a major party nominee wants to destroy our country is uncalled for. With that in mind, let’s see what else the John Birchers have dreamt up (via CafePress):

Yeah, good stuff, there. You have to give the designer on the “White Guilt ’08” one some credit – at least they were making a try at being funny, even if it didn’t make it all the way.

The funny thing is, the left isn’t in quite the same mood to call Sen. John McCain a traitor as the right is to Obama. Well, maybe not everyone.

This one could also toe the offensiveness line:

On the whole, though, liberals putting together T-shirts and bumper stickers do seem to have a less of the angry streak and more of the humorous bent.

The liberal attitude looks to be a bit of “sing when you’re winning” type of thinking that wasn’t there in the past two cycles. The vitriol launched at George W. Bush got to be much at times, and a significant portion of the left-leaning electorate could have done well with a Valium or two. Now, it seems the shoe is on the other foot.
