Developer of Sanford-friendly Web sites in forfeiture

It’s funny how things happen, sometimes. You wonder who’s doing work for whom, how things match up and maybe something interesting will happen. Well, some people are going to need to get a new Internet guy, because Slicker, Inc. has been in a state of forfeiture since April.

That’s right – the people that brought you sites for Gov. Mark Sanford, Rep. Nikki Haley, Rep. Kenny Bingham, Solicitor Scarlett Wilson, the not-so-environmentally-friendly Citizens for Sound Conservation and, wait for it, South Carolinians for Responsible Government – has been dissolved by the state for about three months now.

What’s hard to understand is why people like Haley would still be paying the Charleston Web firm, when it would be a lot easier to find a company closer to Columbia, or Lexington, even, that isn’t in the process of getting shut down.

What isn’t hard to understand, though, is the grouping of each of these people, campaigns and organizations at the same place. Back in the day, political machines had names and headquarters. It sure would be a lot easier of all of these guys would just buy a building in downtown Columbia and consolidate. We all know what they’re doing, anyway.

They DO have a building, John. It’s at 3020 Devine Street and houses SCRG, S.C. Club for Growth and a couple other organizations acting as an S.C. sponge for anti-public school Howard Rich money.
